Initially, Google plans to offer Gemini licenses to customers via Google Cloud, enabling them to integrate the model into their own applications. Starting December 13th, developers and enterprise users can access Gemini Pro through the Gemini API in either Google AI Studio or Google Cloud Vertex AI. Android developers will also gain access to leverage Gemini Nano. Additionally, Google intends to harness Gemini's capabilities to enhance its own products, including the Bard chatbot and the Search Generative Experience, which aims to respond to search queries using conversational-style text (SGE's widespread availability is still pending).
According to a blog post released on Wednesday, Gemini Ultra stands out as the first model to surpass human experts in Massive Multitask Language Understanding (MMLU). This achievement is based on its proficiency across 57 diverse subjects, encompassing fields such as mathematics, physics, history, law, medicine, and ethics. Google asserts that Gemini Ultra demonstrates a remarkable capacity to comprehend subtleties and employ reasoning in complex subject matters.
